So you have no excuse to have not seen them.Ī chilly fall day saw concert goers huddling into Mr Smalls Theater in Pittsburgh to watch Rivers of Nihil and The Contortionist perform. Pennsylvania natives Rivers of Nihil are touring in support of their album The Work which came out inSeptember of 2021. The Contortionist have been playing venues since 2007 and will be performing both the Language and Exoplanet albums in their entirety for their sets. Both albums are held in high esteem by the metal community and are in opinion must listen staples of the genre.Ī dark lit stage was the backdrop for Rivers of Nihil to kick off things for the night. Bassist Adam Biggs addressed the crowd prior to their set to say that vocalist Jake Dieffenbach had a personal issue that needed attended to and that he would not be performing tonight. The band proceeded with Biggs filling in on vocals for the night as well as fill in vocals from drummer Jared Klein. A Stand out for the night was the accompaniment of a live Saxophonist performing along side the band. This tour package was a killer one and word on the street or what Lajon told us is that in September we will be getting a 3rd leg. Ending the night with “Face to Face” is a must that songs still gets you pumped and hearing Morgan scream just gives me chills. The show was a little on the dark side as far as lights which made it a little harder to photo, but Sevendust can’t do any wrong in my opinion. Morgan on those drums are what all drummer should be, fun and entertaining. Lajon’s voice is so damn good and he’s such a nice and down to earth guy. I was a huge Lynn Strait and Snot fan and this song always brings me to tears. “Angels Son” is one of my favorite songs ever. Animosity was one of those albums that really resonated to the fans. I first seen them play at my college in like 97-98, and have been a fan of them since. Sevendust: What can I say about this band. Bassist Liz Hooper was super fun to watch. Vocalist Dan Murphy has a real good sound and voice. ![]() They put on a good show and have a great sound. Plush is that band not too sleep on, I see those girls going places.Īll good things were up and another band I’ve never heard or seen before. Moriah voice is still top notch and just nails that version of “Barracuda”. This band is always killer and just brings such energy with them. This time I got to photograph them from the pit. Plush was on next and I’ve seen them twice this year. ![]() I thought the other band members weren’t into as much but they still put on a good show and even did a cover of Lenny Kravitz “Are you gonna go my way”. My first time seeing them live and they had a good sound to them, the singer has a great voice and the bass player brings the show. When Sevendust comes into Baltimore you know it’s gonna be packed and it’s going to get rowdy.ĭeepFall opened up, this band hails from GrandRapids Michigan. Sevendust is on the 2nd leg of touring the 21st anniversary of “Animosity” bringing with them on this leg: DeepFall,Plush and All good Things.
